Introduction

The Quality Assurance and Accreditation project (QAAP) is one of the six projects that constitute the Higher Education Enhancement Project (HEEP). This project is funded through a loan agreement between the Government of Egypt and the World Bank. The QAAP is directed towards the improvement of quality, efficiency and relevance of higher education in Egypt.

QAAP Main Objectives

The main objectives of the QAAP are to:

• Support the quality assurance and accreditation process in Higher Education Institutions HEIs.

• Support HEIs during developmental engagement  to establish their internal quality assurance systems.

• Encourage H.E. institutions to be ready to apply for accreditation.

• Establish academic reference standards and benchmarks for academic programs across all H.E. sectors.

• Ensure sustainable process.

• Enhance capacity building and staff training in quality assurance.

• Support continuing quality improvements.
